Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Designer for womens cut & sew knits, graphic t-shirts, sweatshirts and fleece with experience in better women's apparel. This is a possible temp to perm opportunity. The Assistant Designer will be responsible for supporting the design team as well as assisting the designer for womens cut & sew knit product categories and channels.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Designer on seasonal sketches and trim details to support design intent
• Support fit development: assist in sketch pass off, organization and agenda for fit sessions/reviews, sketch updates thru development and bulk stages during fittings
• Assist on product development functions & processes: Tech pack creation and line finalization
• Trend and Runway research for new ideas and concept development
• Support on all trim developments
• Support and organize seasonal category design presentations for leadership reviews

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2-4 years of working in design, denim design is a plus
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design preferred
• Efficient in creating flats by illustrator sketching
• Must be technically skilled with understanding of garment construction & denim fit requirements
• Has basic knowledge of denim
• Has basic knowledge of tech pack creation
• Detail oriented with superior organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Photoshop, illustrator, Excel, PowerPoint, and PLM/Centric systems
