Description Are you an experienced tax professional looking for a contract opportunity to showcase your skills during a critical reporting season or special project? Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Accountant to assist our client in managing tax compliance, reporting, and planning. Responsibilities: + Prepare, review, and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time. + Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify tax-saving strategies. + Assist with tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing supporting schedules, and liaising with auditors. + Perform complex reconciliations of tax accounts and analyze discrepancies. + Advise on tax implications for business transactions and strategic decisions. + Stay current on changes in tax legislation and their impact on organizational operations. + Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance teams and external tax advisors, to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy in filings. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. + 3+ years of hands-on experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance. + Proficiency in tax-related software such as ProSystem fx Tax, UltraTax, or similar applications. + Strong knowledge of IRS codes, state regulations, and GAAP. + Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and general computer proficiency. + Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure during peak seasons. Preferred Skills (Optional): + CPA certification or working toward CPA designation (preferred but not required). + Experience in specific industries [e.g., non-profit, entertainment, healthcare] is a plus. + Prior contract or seasonal tax experience helpful.
