**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** This position is responsible for organizing and maintaining an active surgery schedule for the office providers. This position requires the incumbent to speak with patients, hospital departments, and others on the phone and in person. Surgery scheduler is also be responsible for various other tasks, such as managing patient records, inputting and updating patient insurance information, and ensuring communication between staff members and/or physicians. The Surgery Scheduler position requires patience and empathy for dealing with callers who might be upset or confused. Pay Range: 21.93 - 29.60 1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Medical Assisting or Front Office Administration program completion preferred. 2. One (1) year prior experience with surgical scheduling is required. 3. One (1) year of prior experience in a medical office. 4. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required. SKILLS: -Medical terminology. -ICD-9/10 & CPT Coding. -Basic typing and keyboarding skills. -Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. -Experience with customer service and multi-line phones. -Familiarity with computers, EMR software, and other office equipment. -Ability to prioritize responsibilities. -Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively. -Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation. -Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures. -Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers. **Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion** Trinity Health is one of the largest not-for-profit, Catholic healthcare systems in the nation.
