Manager of Special Events and Major Gifts Location Remote :

SUMMARY

The Manager of Special Events works with the Director of Special Events and Major Gifts and the Vice President of Development to grow MSAA's special events and helps support critical development efforts such as the DIY program and major gift work, while helping achieve the annual budgeted net income goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for managing MSAA's Women of Action event series

  • Oversee budgeted events for Women of Action event series
  • Support continuation of series by overseeing new event location
  • Recruit and manage committee volunteers and day of event volunteers
  • Manage all event logistics, with support from supervisor
  • Achieve annual budgeted net income goal for all Women of Action events

Provide support to MSAA's Do It Yourself (DIY) program

  • Manage MSAA's Shop and Support program by building and maintaining partnerships with retail companies to support MSAA
  • Provide fundraising and technical support to DIY participants
  • Achieve annual budgeted net income goal for DIY program

Manage operations for major gift efforts

  • Lead stewardship efforts for major donors, including facilitating donor touchpoints via email and standard mail
  • Manage reporting for major gift efforts
  • Manage vendor relationships for printing and postage
  • Partner with Development Operations team to assist in management of donors

Support all MSAA special events

  • Attend all MSAA events to provide day of support to staff and volunteers
  • Provide logistical event support as needed and requested by supervisor, especially to signature Improving Lives Benefit event
  • Partner with staff to maintain special events inventory
  • Assist with event auction and raffle solicitation and permitting
  • Assist with event logistics, such as venue contracting and event signage
  • Facilitate matching gifts for special events

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS, or equivalent education/coursework 
  • 1-2 years fundraising experience, or equivalent transferable skills
  • Experience recruiting and managing volunteer leaders
  • Experience in Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail / highly organized
  • Project management skills,
  • Able to prioritize, multi-task, and follow through with minimal direction 
  • Flexibility in varied job assignments
  • Annual event travel is approximately 10-15%

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $52,500.00 per year
