This role offers the chance to lead design for a cutting-edge, data-intensive B2B platform, transforming complex 3D and geospatial datasets into intuitive and engaging user experiences. You will work at the intersection of visual storytelling, interactive data visualization, and web-based interfaces, applying principles from game design to enhance usability and engagement. Collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and data scientists, you will advocate for design excellence while mentoring and guiding visual and interaction strategies. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment, blending technical proficiency with creative problem-solving to deliver user-focused solutions.

Accountabilities

• Lead end-to-end UX/UI design for a complex 3D, web-based platform, from concept and research to high-fidelity prototypes.
• Translate large and intricate datasets into immersive, interactive visualizations that simplify user interaction.
• Conduct user research with B2B clients in civil engineering and geospatial domains to inform design decisions.
• Develop a visual-first design system including dashboards, modular UI components, and interactive maps.
• Apply gaming and interactive design principles to create engaging, responsive user experiences.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to ensure seamless integration of design with platform functionality.
• Present design concepts to stakeholders, advocating for user-centered and visually clear solutions.
• Identify opportunities for innovation in workflow, data visualization, and interactive design.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing data-heavy, web-based platforms with a strong focus on visual interaction and engagement.
• B2B design experience, preferably in civil engineering, geospatial, or technical domains.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI leadership and visually compelling design solutions.
• Familiarity with game design principles or interactive systems is highly desirable.
• Expertise with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience designing interactive data visualizations with libraries such as D3.js, Mapbox, or CesiumJS.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills to present and justify design decisions.
• Analytical mindset and strong user empathy to translate complex requirements into intuitive designs.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with mapping libraries and APIs like Mapbox, Leaflet, or CesiumJS.
• Familiarity with geospatial or civil engineering platforms like GISonLINE or ProjectWise.
• Background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Game Design, or Visual Communication.
• Experience designing for platforms handling large-scale data transfer and processing.
