The scope of services required for the Data Warehouse Architect/Developer includes:

  • Develop and support end to end enterprise data warehouse and BI solutions for business and management teams.
  • Create and maintain complex SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports.
  • Create and maintain complex MDX queries against SSAS cubes.
  • Create complex queries, data transformation, aggregation, stored procedures and triggers.
  • Develop ad-hoc SQL to research data questions.
  • Performance-tune ETL, stored procedures, and reports to keep databases optimized.
  • Troubleshoot ETL failures and devise corrective actions.
  • Perform code reviews, data validation, and system testing for data warehouse changes.
  • Interact closely with members of both IT and business staff members.

Job Skills

The minimum skills and experience levels required for a candidate to be considered for this position include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using SQL Server Integration Services(SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services(SSAS) and SQL Server Reporting Services(SSRS).
  • Experience developing complex MDX queries to access SSAS cubes.
  • Ability to design and implement changes to existing data warehouse and cubes.
  • Ability to provide time estimates for assignments and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret and translate high-level Business Requirements into a detailed Design Specification.
  • Ability to perform Quality Assurance Testing of Applications, Reports, etc�from Requirements\Design Specifications and document software discrepancies.
  • Ability to learn\query the various data source systems in order to verify the accuracy of code when compared to the written Specifications.
  • Ability to create\write Test Plan(s) from Requirements\Design Specifications when requested.
  • Ability to resolve software discrepancies and re-test until all known Issues have been resolved.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.
  • Must be a Team player.
  • The ability to do ad-hoc SQL to research data questions,�identify root causes and interact closely with peers and business users is essential.
